Good to know
The short version of everything in the welcome book. Anything else, text 906-224-2100.
When can I check in and out?
Check-in is from 4 pm and check-out is 11 am. Late check-out is often possible; ask the day before and we'll let you know.
How do I get in?
Every place has keyless entry. Your personal door code and the full address arrive about 48 hours before check-in through our guest portal.
Is there a deposit?
A $500 refundable hold goes on your card at check-in, or you can choose a $49 damage protection policy instead. You pick during online check-in.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes at most of our places, with prior approval. It's $50 per pet per stay. Add your pets to the guest count when you book so the fee applies automatically. Keep pets off furniture, leashed outside, never left alone, and clean up after them.
What's the cancellation policy?
Cancel 30 or more days before check-in for a full refund. Inside 30 days, the booking is non-refundable, but we'll do our best to rebook the dates and refund what we can. Travel insurance is a good idea for ski weeks.
Do you provide linens and towels?
Yes. Beds are made, towels are out, and the bathroom has shampoo, soap and the basics. If you run short on a longer stay, text us.
Is there WiFi?
Free WiFi everywhere. Most places are on Spectrum; the homes on Black River Road run Starlink. It's the northwoods, so the occasional hiccup happens.
Is firewood included?
Yes, wherever there's a fireplace or fire pit.
Can we park a trailer?
Alpen Villas and Lupindorf have room for sleds and small trailers. Park in front of your unit and keep the dumpster clear. For the homes, ask us first about anything bigger than a pickup.
Are the Alpen Villa hot tubs private?
Each hot tub sits on a lower deck shared by one pair of villas (1 and 2, 3 and 4, 5 and 6, 7 and 8). Book both villas in a pair and the tub is all yours.
House rules?
Only the guests on the booking. No smoking inside. No parties or events. Quiet hours start at 10 pm. Boots off in the entry. If something breaks, tell us, we'd rather fix it than find it.
Where are you?
Ironwood is in the far western corner of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, on the Wisconsin line. About 2 hours from Duluth, 4 from Minneapolis, 5 from Milwaukee, 6 from Chicago. The Gogebic-Iron County Airport is 5 minutes from Powderhorn.
Draft for Danielle: the cancellation policy above is a placeholder. Tell me the real one from Hospitable Direct and I'll swap it in.
